Daily Devo In Pursuit Walking To Victory
Daily Devo: Walking To Victory
based on sermon by Tim Bach, June 8, 2025
Day 1: Foundations of Faith
- Opening Prayer: Heavenly Father, guide us today as we seek to strengthen our foundation of faith. Help us to understand Your ways and trust in Your plans. Amen.
- Scripture Reading: Joshua 6:1-5
- Daily Topic: Building a Strong Foundation
- Contemplate the significance of Jericho as an entry point and how foundational aspects of faith prepare us for the journey with God.
- Consider the internal and external walls we face, like doubt, pride, and rejection.
- Life Implications: Reflect upon areas in your life where you need to strengthen your faith foundation. Identify the 'walls' that keep you from trusting in God's plan.
- Closing Prayer: Lord, help us to build a faith that can withstand any obstacle. Strengthen our resolve to trust You in all things. Amen.
Day 2: Obedience to God’s Plan
- Opening Prayer: Lord, open our hearts to understand and follow Your commands, even when they seem unconventional. Amen.
- Scripture Reading: Joshua 6:12-14
- Daily Topic: The Call to Obey
- Reflect on God's instructions to Joshua and the Israelites. Consider how God’s plan can sometimes seem unusual but is always purposeful.
- Life Implications: Think about a time when following God’s direction didn’t make sense but led to growth or victory. How can you apply obedient faith in current struggles?
- Closing Prayer: God, grant us the courage to obey Your voice over our understanding. May we walk in faith, not by sight. Amen.
Day 3: The Power of God in Victory
- Opening Prayer: Almighty God, remind us today of Your power and our need to rely on Your strength rather than our own. Amen.
- Scripture Reading: Zechariah 4:6
- Daily Topic: Victory Through God’s Power
- Consider how true victory comes from God’s power rather than human effort, as illustrated in the fall of Jericho’s walls.
- Life Implications: Identify areas in life where you rely on your strength instead of God’s. How can you shift to relying more on the Spirit?
- Closing Prayer: Father, thank You for the victories You bring through Your Spirit. Help us to depend fully on Your might. Amen.
Day 4: Trusting in God’s Timing
- Opening Prayer: Dear God, teach us the patience to trust in Your perfect timing and to wait with hope. Amen.
- Scripture Reading: Psalm 46:10
- Daily Topic: Patience in God’s Timing
- Reflect on the discipline of waiting, as the Israelites did during their seven-day march. Trust is nurtured in the waiting time.
- Life Implications: In what areas do you need to be more patient with God’s timing? Consider the growth that comes with relinquishing control.
- Closing Prayer: Lord, help us to cease striving and to know that You are in control, guiding us in Your time. Amen.
Day 5: Transformation and Testimony
- Opening Prayer: Gracious God, transform our lives into a testimony of Your power and love. Use us as witnesses of Your faithfulness. Amen.
- Scripture Reading: Joshua 6:25-27
- Daily Topic: Life Changed by Faith
- Explore Rahab's story and her transformation as a witness to God’s grace and power. Contemplate the transformation that faith brings.
- Life Implications: How has faith transformed your life? Identify ways you can testify to God’s work in your life to others.
- Closing Prayer: God of transformation, continue to mold our lives as testimonies to Your love. May others see Your goodness in us. Amen.
