Daily Devo--Pursuing God's Wisdom, the Path to True Living
Based on a sermon preached by Tim Bach, 9/21/25


Day 1: Pursuing God’s Wisdom

Opening Prayer
"Dear Lord, as we start this devotional journey, grant us the desire to seek Your wisdom in everything we do. Amen."

Scripture Reading
Proverbs 2:6 - "For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding."

Daily Topic
The importance of seeking God's wisdom in a world where everyone does what seems right in their own eyes (Judges 17:6).

Life Application
Reflect on an area where you've been relying on your own understanding. Decide on one specific way you will begin seeking God’s guidance instead.

Closing Prayer
"Lord, thank You for being the source of wisdom. Help us to trust You more deeply and to seek Your guidance in all aspects of our life. Amen."

Day 2: Obeying God

Opening Prayer
"Heavenly Father, open our hearts today to understand the value of obedience in our walk with You. Amen."

Scripture Reading
Proverbs 3:1-2 - "My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments; for length of days and years of life and peace they will add to you."

Daily Topic
The blessings of obeying God's commandments and the decision to follow His teachings.

Life Application
Identify a commandment or teaching you've struggled with. Commit to practicing obedience in this area and note any changes in your heart or life.

Closing Prayer
"Father, help us to remember and obey Your teachings daily. May our lives be filled with Your peace and guidance. Amen."

Day 3: Trusting God Completely

Opening Prayer
"Lord, guide us today to deepen our trust in You and to rely not on our own understanding. Amen."

Scripture Reading
Proverbs 3:5-6 - "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight."

Daily Topic
What it means to trust God fully and the promise of His guidance in our lives.

Life Application
Write down a current challenge. Pray for the strength to trust God with it wholly and look for ways He may be leading you through it.

Closing Prayer
"Gracious God, teach us to trust You completely and to acknowledge You in all our ways. Lead us on the paths You have planned for us. Amen."

Day 4: Fearing God

Opening Prayer
"Father in heaven, teach us what it means to fear You and how that fear transforms our lives. Amen."

Scripture Reading
Proverbs 3:7-8 - "Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and turn away from evil. It will be healing to your body and refreshment to your bones."

Daily Topic
The concept of fearing the Lord and turning away from evil as a pathway to spiritual and physical healing.

Life Application
Consider an area where you might be wise in your own eyes. Pray for humility and the courage to turn away from any related actions or choices.

Closing Prayer
"Lord, instill in us a healthy fear of You that leads us to wisdom and healing. Help us to turn from our ways and follow Yours. Amen."

Day 5: Honoring God with Everything

Opening Prayer
"Dear God, open our hearts to see how we can honor You with all that we have. Amen."

Scripture Reading
Proverbs 3:9-10 - "Honor the Lord from your wealth and from the first of all your produce; so your barns will be filled with plenty and your vats will overflow with new wine."

Daily Topic
The principle of honoring God with our resources and the promise of His provision.

Life Application
Examine your financial priorities and decide on one tangible way to honor God with your wealth, whether through giving, generosity, or stewardship.

Closing Prayer
"God, help us to honor You with our resources and recognize Your provision in our lives. May we be generous and thankful stewards of all You've given us. Amen."
