Daily Devo: A Really Cool Blessing

Daily Devo based on a sermon preached by Tim Bach and Greg Ballog, 12/24/25

Day 1: The Humble Arrival Opening Prayer: Begin by thanking God for His unexpected ways and ask for a heart open to His lessons.

Scripture Reading: Luke 2:1-7

Daily Topic: Discuss the significance of Jesus' humble birth. Reflect on how Jesus came to ordinary people in an unexpected way and what this tells you about God's character.

Life Application Follow-Up Exercise: Consider areas in your life where you need to embrace humility. Write down one way you can exhibit humility in your relationships or actions today.

Closing Prayer: Pray for the strength to live humbly and to see others through the eyes of Christ.

Day 2: The Angel’s Good News Opening Prayer: Thank God for the message of hope and joy in Jesus' birth.

Scripture Reading: Luke 2:10-11

Daily Topic: Reflect on the angel's announcement of Jesus as the Savior. Consider how this message is relevant in your life today and why it brings comfort and joy.

Life Application Follow-Up Exercise: Share this "good news" with someone today by writing an encouraging note or message, focusing on hope and joy.

Closing Prayer: Pray for opportunities to spread the joy and hope of Christ to others in your daily interactions.

Day 3: Jesus, The Ultimate Blessing Opening Prayer: Ask God to help you understand and appreciate the blessings you have in Christ.

Scripture Reading: Ephesians 1:3

Daily Topic: Explore the concept of Jesus as the ultimate blessing. Consider the spiritual blessings inherent in your relationship with Him: forgiveness, peace, hope, and eternal life.

Life Application Follow-Up Exercise: Reflect on which spiritual blessing you need most today and why. Write a prayer asking God to help you fully experience this blessing.

Closing Prayer: Thank God for every spiritual blessing you've received through Christ and ask for the grace to live out these blessings.

Day 4: Jesus, The Light in Darkness Opening Prayer: Invite God to reveal His light in areas of your life where you need clarity and hope.

Scripture Reading: John 1:1-5

Daily Topic: Meditate on Jesus as the light of the world. How does this light illuminate your life and provide guidance amidst the darkness?

Life Application Follow-Up Exercise: Identify a situation where you need Jesus' light. Take a moment to pray specifically for His guidance and clarity in this area.

Closing Prayer: Pray for Jesus' light to lead you and for courage to walk in that light even in challenging circumstances.

Day 5: Living Blessed as Followers of Christ Opening Prayer: Thank God for the blessings and responsibilities of living as a follower of Christ.

Scripture Reading: Matthew 5:14-16

Daily Topic: Discuss the call to be a light to others by reflecting Jesus' life. How can you effectively share the blessing you have received?

Life Application Follow-Up Exercise: Choose one specific way to act as a light in your community this week. Plan and commit to this action, whether it is volunteering, helping a neighbor, or spreading encouragement.

Closing Prayer: Ask for God's guidance in being a blessing to others and for the willingness to share His love and light in tangible ways.
